CVSS v3.1 |
A flaw was found in libsoup. The implementation of HTTP range requests is vulnerable to a resource consumption attack. This flaw allows a malicious client to request the same range many times in a single HTTP request, causing the server to use large amounts of memory. This does not allow for a full denial of service.
shell-quote prior to 1.8.5 finalizes parsed tokens in parse() using Array.prototype.concat as a reduce accumulator, which reallocates and copies the entire growing array on every iteration. As a result parse() runs in O(n^2) time relative to the number of input tokens. An attacker who can supply an attacker-controlled string to any code path that calls parse() (no shell metacharacters are required; plain space-separated words suffice) can block the single-threaded Node.js event loop for an extended period with a small input, resulting in a denial of service. There is no code execution or data disclosure; impact is to availability only. Fixed in 1.8.5.
ws is an open source WebSocket client and server for Node.js. All versions from 1.1.0 up to (but not including) 5.2.5, from 6.0.0 up to 6.2.4, from 7.0.0 up to 7.5.11, and from 8.0.0 up to 8.21.0 are affected by a memory exhaustion DoS vulnerability. A peer can send a high volume of exceptionally small fragments and data chunks, with modest network traffic, to force the remote peer into allocating and holding structural wrappers that consume far more memory than the default documented message-size limit, leading to process termination due to OOM. This issue has been fixed in versions 5.2.5, 6.2.4, 7.5.11, and 8.21.0.
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
iommu/vt-d: Don't issue ATS Invalidation request when device is disconnected
For those endpoint devices connect to system via hotplug capable ports,
users could request a hot reset to the device by flapping device's link
through setting the slot's link control register, as pciehp_ist() DLLSC
interrupt sequence response, pciehp will unload the device driver and
then power it off. thus cause an IOMMU device-TLB invalidation (Intel
VT-d spec, or ATS Invalidation in PCIe spec r6.1) request for non-existence
target device to be sent and deadly loop to retry that request after ITE
fault triggered in interrupt context.
That would cause following continuous hard lockup warning and system hang

A security flaw has been discovered in musl libc up to 1.2.6. Affected is the function iconv of the file src/locale/iconv.c of the component GB18030 4-byte Decoder. Performing a manipulation results in inefficient algorithmic complexity. The attack must be initiated from a local position. To fix this issue, it is recommended to deploy a patch.
Python-Multipart is a streaming multipart parser for Python. Versions prior to 0.0.26 have a denial of service vulnerability when parsing crafted `multipart/form-data` requests with large preamble or epilogue sections. Upgrade to version 0.0.26 or later, which skips ahead to the next boundary candidate when processing leading CR/LF data and immediately discards epilogue data after the closing boundary.
A vulnerability has been found in Radare2 5.9.9. This issue affects the function walk_exports_trie of the file libr/bin/format/mach0/mach0.c of the component Mach-O File Parser. Such manipulation leads to resource consumption. The attack can only be performed from a local environment. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The existence of this vulnerability is still disputed at present. Upgrading to version 6.1.2 is capable of addressing this issue. The name of the patch is 4371ae84c99c46b48cb21badbbef06b30757aba0. You should upgrade the affected component. The code maintainer states that, "[he] wont consider this bug a DoS".
Suricata is a network IDS, IPS and NSM engine. Starting in version 8.0.0 and prior to version 8.0.3, inefficiency in http1 headers parsing can lead to slowdown over multiple packets. Version 8.0.3 patches the issue. No known workarounds are available.
pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.7.3, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to the RAM being exhausted. This requires accessing the `xfa` property of a reader or writer and the corresponding stream being compressed using `/FlateDecode`. This has been fixed in pypdf 6.7.3. As a workaround, apply the patch manually.
Suricata is a network IDS, IPS and NSM engine. Prior to versions 8.0.3 and 7.0.14, various inefficiencies in xff handling, especially for alerts not triggered in a tx, can lead to severe slowdowns. Versions 8.0.3 and 7.0.14 contain a patch. As a workaround, disable XFF support in the eve configuration. The setting is disabled by default.
pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.7.1, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to long runtimes and large memory consumption. This requires parsing the /ToUnicode entry of a font with unusually large values, for example during text extraction. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.7.1.
pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.7.1, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to long runtimes. This requires a malformed /FlateDecode stream, where the byte-by-byte decompression is used. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.7.1.
Validating certificate chains which use policies is unexpectedly inefficient when certificates in the chain contain a very large number of policy mappings, possibly causing denial of service. This only affects validation of otherwise trusted certificate chains, issued by a root CA in the VerifyOptions.Roots CertPool, or in the system certificate pool.
A flaw was found in Keycloak. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted POST request with an excessively long scope parameter to the OpenID Connect (OIDC) token endpoint. This leads to high resource consumption and prolonged processing times, ultimately resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) for the Keycloak server.
Rack is a modular Ruby web server interface. Prior to versions 2.2.23, 3.1.21, and 3.2.6, Rack::Utils.select_best_encoding processes Accept-Encoding values with quadratic time complexity when the header contains many wildcard (*) entries. Because this method is used by Rack::Deflater to choose a response encoding, an unauthenticated attacker can send a single request with a crafted Accept-Encoding header and cause disproportionate CPU consumption on the compression middleware path. This results in a denial of service condition for applications using Rack::Deflater. This issue has been patched in versions 2.2.23, 3.1.21, and 3.2.6.
The `SimpleDirectoryReader` component in `llama_index.core` version 0.12.23 suffers from uncontrolled memory consumption due to a resource management flaw. The vulnerability arises because the user-specified file limit (`num_files_limit`) is applied after all files in a directory are loaded into memory. This can lead to memory exhaustion and degraded performance, particularly in environments with limited resources. The issue is resolved in version 0.12.41.
A Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability in evershop 2.1.0 and prior allows unauthenticated attackers to exhaust the application server's resources via the "GET /images" API. The application fails to limit the height of the use-element shadow tree or the dimensions of pattern tiles during the processing of SVG files, resulting in unbounded resource consumption and system-wide denial of service.
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Bluetooth: hci_core: Fix not checking skb length on hci_acldata_packet
This fixes not checking if skb really contains an ACL header otherwise
the code may attempt to access some uninitilized/invalid memory past the
valid skb->data. |
The NPM package `braces`, versions prior to 3.0.3, fails to limit the number of characters it can handle, which could lead to Memory Exhaustion. In `lib/parse.js,` if a malicious user sends "imbalanced braces" as input, the parsing will enter a loop, which will cause the program to start allocating heap memory without freeing it at any moment of the loop. Eventually, the JavaScript heap limit is reached, and the program will crash.
Within HostnameError.Error(), when constructing an error string, there is no limit to the number of hosts that will be printed out. Furthermore, the error string is constructed by repeated string concatenation, leading to quadratic runtime. Therefore, a certificate provided by a malicious actor can result in excessive resource consumption.
